Show me a single member of his family that has served in the military. One. Where is the sacrifice? Where is the example? How does he justify calling John McCain who did serve "not a war hero"? Now Trump wants a military parade? He wants a bunch of soldiers to build his ego but neither he nor any member of his family has ever served or knows what it means to serve.
LAWL. You said John McCain had no credibility, Now you call out Trump for doing the same.
A lot of the time yeah, but he did pass tariffs, which regardless if they are effective or not, is a positive in a symbolic way in my working class book.
Not if it costs more jobs than it creates, which is what happened the last time we had a steel tariff.
Quote:
Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) tried to use that history as a cautionary tale last month. In a televised White House meeting with Trump, he described how after Bush’s tariffs were put in place, auto-parts manufacturers left the U.S. so they could make their parts with cheaper steel and then ship them back to the U.S. — cutting jobs for American workers while also avoiding tariffs.
”We found there were 10 times as many people in steel-using industries as there were in steel-producing industries,” Alexander said. “They lost more jobs than exist in the steel industry."
Poor Democrats. Hate for Americans to even have a parade.
Oh, come on. You know that's not true. As long as there's a reason for a parade, every American loves one. They make us all feel American.
This one has no good reason. It's only to satisfy the needs of our childish leader, who wants to one-up another childish leader.
I wish there was a cause.
Pulling us out of Afghanistan would sure be a good reason, and the troops coming home could use a show of public gratitude and appreciation for them when they return.
But trying to one-up Kim Jong Un is nothing but a waste. The North Koreans have made these big military show-offs a specialty, with a place created specifically for parades, and the hoo-raw their marchers do isn't our style at all. It never was.
Who cares? It is not a requirement that a presidential candidate or someone in their family has served in the military. Like Waldo said, if Obama had one you would think the idea was great. You really need to get over this or you'll have an aneurysm.
Obama had family that served. Trump has not, his grandfather was kicked out of Germany because he avoided it and Trump took five deferments to avoid Vietnam, then insulted John McCain. Obama did NONE of those things. The ONLY reason Trump wants to do this is to serve his own ego. Let Trump pay for it. If he can charge the Secret Service $65K in a single month to use his elevators, he can pay for his own military parade.
Not serving (eg. when there is no draft) and getting 4+/- (FOUR!) deferments for various and sundry bs conditions such as ‘bone spurs’ (aka cowardice) are two different things...
Poor Democrats. Hate for Americans to even have a parade.
Soldiers hate parades. Like REALLY hate parades. I’ve yet to meet a soldier that wanted to march in a parade. If you’d served in the military instead of the Cub Scouts, you’d know this.
You make the broad jump to conclusion that because there was institutional racism in 1945, that we should not have a military parade now.
It's one of the more ridiculous things that you have posted here.
