I'll wait for McCabe to tell his side of the story during the lawsuit. To do this 24 hours before his retirement? This is purely political. If Sessions did this to act as a pacifier for Trump who is lashing out, it doesn't speak well for any of them.
McCabe could very well be facing criminal prosecution, I doubt he will be suing.
If the IG report is as bad as some people think it will be, we could be see more of this...buckle up.
After McCabe, speculation is Rod Rosenstein may be next. This is feeling very Nixonian.
Stop listening to liberal media.
The FBI’s internal Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) has recommended to AG Jeff Sessions that FBI Asst Director Andrew McCabe should be fired.
Just heard nineteen FBI employees were fired for "lack of candor" which is the number one sin to them and what normal people call lying. They didn't even lie under oath like McCabe.
Let's not forget that McCabe unexpectedly said he was retiring a few months ago. It was unexpected after Wray, head of the FBI, had gotten damaging information from Michael Horowitz' IG office. Happened on a weekend as I recall. This has been coming for a while now.
Someone needs to create a Rolling Heads thread soon since more heads will be rolling. Investigations already in the works regarding Strzok and Page but supposedly there are official rules and steps that have to be taken. This is a bureaucracy don't forget.
That same link explains that firing McCabe is politically beneficial for Sessions, who has been under pressure from Trump.
"It is worth noting, however, that a decision by the attorney general to remove McCabe would potentially benefit Sessions politically. Sessions has been under constant scrutiny by a White House furious with his decision to recuse himself in the ongoing special counsel investigation into possible collusion with Russia by members of the Trump campaign. McCabe has also been a favorite target of Republicans, who have, without solid evidence, accused him of conflicts of interest and politicizing the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server. Simply put, firing McCabe would show the White House that Sessions is a team player by his ousting one of their favorite punching bags."

So you now agree that the claim about witness tampering by firing him is a farce?

As CNN's Law Enforcement Analyst said. McCabe had to be fired now, because McCabe chose to push up his retirement early and deserved to be fired due to various policies and deserved to be punished.
Perhaps McCabe chose to push up his retirement early, because he knew he broke policies and wanted out with his retirement package.

Yes, as CNN's analyst said, McCabe was being purely political and the FBI's OPR is not political and said he should get fired.

If...If...If...If...CONSPIRACY THEORY!
The IG and the FBI's OPR both said fire him. He deserves it.
You are letting your hatred of Trump make you not think logically.
Bill Kristol is speculating that Sessions did this to placate Trump from firing Mueller. We are entering a very dark time. That's suggesting that Trump is now just flipping out and wanting to fire people wildly.
Very dark times, in deed! Bill Kristol made a lot of sense in his theory that Sessions was keeping himself and in turn Mueller from getting fired by firing McCabe just hours before his pension would kick in.

Remember that story about the mule and the 2X4 and how the mule was whacked in order to get his attention? What the story didn't mention is how the #2 mules suddenly started paying real close attention to the rules and what happens to mules who do not play fair.
The may relent and give McCabe a reduced pension in a few months. Actually, I hope so. The message has been sent, and starting next Monday, the FBI is a lot better place.
That is my hope. McCabe sounds furious and ready to fight hard. I really hope he does. He says straight out that this is all about trying to weaken him as a witness for the Mueller investigation. James Comey spoke to a small group of people and so far, virtually every one of them have been targeted, including McCabe.
of course McCabe sounds furious... the crooked cop got caught
