I still don't understand what you meant by saying the guy didn't get a choice. A choice for what? A choice to avoid getting Baker Acted?

He is pretty clearly a whacko. This is one of the exceptions listed in the 2nd amendment, which reads: "A well regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed unless the person is clearly a whacko. Only then is it OK for the government to confiscate his guns and forbid him to buy more."

Thank God the people of Florida have found government officials they can trust to never abuse their authority, and who will never (followed by future generation of govt officials too) make an announcement like, "People who voted for Trump are clearly insane, so under Florida's new law we can arrest all Republicans and take away whatever guns they have".

Police seize first firearms under Florida's new gun-control laws

Paula McMahon
Sun Sentinel

A Broward County judge on Friday issued the state’s first order temporarily removing guns from a person under Florida’s new gun-control laws.

Four firearms and 267 rounds of ammunition were ordered removed from a 56-year-old Lighthouse Point man who was determined to be a potential risk to himself or others.

The guns and ammunition have been temporarily removed from the man under the state’s new “risk protection” law, which is also sometimes called “red flag” legislation, Lighthouse Point City Attorney Michael Cirullo confirmed.

The man was also taken to a hospital for involuntary psychiatric treatment under the state’s Baker Act. But the civil ruling removing his access to guns and ammunition was granted under the new legislation — which permits confiscating guns from people who have not been committed but are deemed a potential risk to themselves or others, according to the order signed by Broward’s Chief Judge Jack Tuter.

The man is also prohibited from trying to purchase or obtain guns or ammunition from any source.

The man told officers he “was being targeted and burglarized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a neighbor who lives in [his] building,” the judge wrote in his order. “[He] could not describe the neighbor but stated that the neighbor [can] ‘shape shift, he can change heights and I’m not sure where he comes from’ and ‘to be honest, he looks like Osama Bin Laden.’”

He also told officers that he had to turn off the electrical breakers because “they are electrocuting me through my legs.”
This the conservative solution the FL Congress came up with

George Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump have combined to kill between 500K to 1 million innocents in just this century and they have access to nuclear weapons.

One dude says he believes in shape shifters and they take away his guns?

Oh yeah, we've got our priorities straight my friends.

A guy, let's call him "Bob", who acts weird a lot? Hmmm....

A) Bob thinks he's being spied on and his home is being intruded by his neighbors, at least one of whom can shape-shift into other people.

B) Bob thinks a former US President died and returned to life to murder children and put their essence into Bob's head.

C) Bob turned off the electricity to his multi-family building because he thought he was being electrocuted through the floor.

D) Bob has several firearms in his home.

These are some of the exceptions to good sense: "I should invite Bob into my irregular militia muster or to go hunting or shooting, I'll be sure to let Bob out of my peripheral vision. Only then is it OK to let Bob 'go nuts'.

Bob's currently in a psychiactric hospital, as he would've been at any point in your life under these circumstances--the 2A notwithstanding. Maybe Florida's looney bins provide enough space for all of the guns Bob feels he needs for his 2A *reasons*. I hear there are personal property limits, so he may need to make some choices. The .357 mag should be good enough. Otherwise Bob's obviously got a RTKBA lawsuit. Is it Constitutional to allow Bob only one firearm while he's being lawfully detained as a dangerous lunatic?

No civilian needs to own semi-automatic weapons.

Florida public servants couldn’t keep a “multiple “ reporter person from shooting up a school.

Florida sworn public servant stood sat crouched hid outside while someone shot up a school.

Florida Government control their roads and bridges couldn’t reroute traffic on a busy workday so a stress test could be done without killing anyone.

But the Florida Government took guns ( successfully) I assume ( which proves ) crazy loner weird guy was no threat

And the NRA is a terrorist organization and Parkland students will save America as soon as their colored comrades tear all the American flags down and ransack all the Walmart’s.

The children are our future.

3% mother****ers.
