A lot of far-left Democrats are pretty convinced at this point that Trump did something worthy of being impeached (whatever that may be).

So, is this the right time for Eric Swalwell, Maxine Waters and others to start impeachment proceedings against Trump? Or is it too early to shoot the arrow from the bow just yet? How will this affect the 2018 elections?

I say bring it on and see how it goes. This should be interesting.

I've lost count of the times they have already called for impeachment in the H of R.

The elected democrat communist can try it again but still don't have the numbers to get it done.

Impeach him for what? Just because you don't like someone is not a reason.

I think Maxine and the rest should get off the impeachment wagon because it is really getting old now or stay on it and ride off a cliff.

Colluding with Russia, fornicating with a porn star, insulting Hillary, firing Comey, attacking McCabe, being a pathological liar, and on and on ....

Surely, there must be something in there that Trump can be impeached over. This should be easy, right?

No. I don't think we're there yet.

Trying to impeach him before at least some Rs are ready to do it (and they may never be) is a recipe for political disaster.

Not to mention the fact that it would be bad for democracy.

The proper consequence for "ordinary" bad behavior on the part of an elected official is being exposed and voted out.

I think impeachment should be reserved for actions that actually threaten the integrity of our government. A self-defeating spat with a pornography entrepreneur doesn't rise to that, IMO.

Being in hock up to one's eyeballs to a national adversary could rise to that, but we have a ways to go before that case is fleshed out.

Yep.

Why should Democrats get in the way of Trump imploding his own presidency?

They were convinced before he even took office.

Common sense or even sanity has never been their strong suit.

Many of those far-left hysterics, by their own standards, are far more deserving of impeachment or other censure themselves, than President Trump is.
