So in near future, a lot of things will become more expensive?

---------------------------------------------
President Donald Trump will impose tariffs on at least $50 billion in Chinese goods imports to retaliate against the alleged theft of American intellectual property, White House officials said Thursday.

Saying it would be the "first of many" trade actions, Trump signed the order that also will look at restrictions on Chinese investment in the US.

We will see, I'm pretty sure the relationship between U.S. and China might go south.

I approve of Trump's trade policy, negotiating better deals is a plus. Turning over tech. to China on demand is a dangerous national security concern that should never have been allowed. IMO

Actually a lot of hi-tech products from China do not use American-style technology (but European and Japanese), such as high-speed rail and new energy vehicles.
The Chinese major brand of electronic products Huawei has been banned from the US market for "security" reasons.

He's putting an end to all the intellectual property theft the Chinese do from American companies as well. Good move.

Trump to impose $50 billion tariffs on Chinese goods
I was wondering why the stock market was plummeting, and then I saw the news and noticed it was Trump at it again.

If there's one thing the market hates, it's uncertainty. Which accounts for today's market freefall. Trade wars go both ways and nobody wins. For all that Trump has bragged about being a great "negotiator," so far he hasn't shown it. Diplomacy is about negotiating, not making "deals." We're not acting in a reality show.

China will retaliate. It will affect some domestic industry. Farmers maybe?

China buys about 30 to 33 percent of all the soybeans we grow in the entire United States. Apparently China switch to importing from Brazil

You can't excuse away the well known fact that China has required US companies to turn over their Tech. to gain entry into their market. Deflecting to "look over here" at Europe or Japan won't work either when the subject is American tech.
