It's not a protest. It is staged, partisan, political PROPAGANDA sponsored by government, unions, Bloomberg, and Soros.
It is statements like this that make us realize there are some people on the right who have no grasp of reality. Not sure if you actually believe this, or if you are simply doing it to get a rise out of people.
The reality is, these are simply YOUNG AMERICANS, who have said "enough is enough", and who are using a common voice to affect some changes. Some of us, who were there, saw it in the 60's, when young people, opposed to the senseless slaughter of their peers in Nam, spoke out, put their own lives on the line, and protested that senseless war.
We older people better get used to this, and get out of their way. They are determined, smart, articulate, and have strength in numbers. And, as we can see, their movement is growing, not fading, as some predicted.
Have those of you denigrating the students watched any of this currently underway event? C-span is streaming coverage online.
The young speakers have all been amazingly articulate and effective speakers. The youngest was eleven years old. They are talking about what they have personally experienced: the loss of siblings, personal encounters with criminals wielding guns, surviving shot-up classrooms...
Before you criticize, look at and listen to these young people. They will be the future. And that future will be here before you know it.
Not to diminish how unfortunate and said it was/is for children to be attacked at school, but in reality the statistical chances of being shot/murdered in a school shooting are infinitesimally small. I believe there are approximately 55 million children in our schools.....how many have been wounded or killed in a given year? There are far more common dangerous situations that could impact our children....alcohol, drugs, cars, etc. In my opinion, this is just a well-orchestrated, anti-gun movement that in the end will have little if any impact.
These kids are what’s wrong with the culture. We didn’t have mass shootings at schools when I was a teenager, but we had plenty of guns. They might as well protest the Internet and CNN, because that’s the real problem. Media attention is what causes these shootings.
Really? So you would prefer that whenever something like that happens, you don't want to hear about it? In other words, you don't want the media to do it's JOB. Quite like sticking your head in the sand, isn't it?
An entire generation of kids terrified to the point where they can't think but only react, and brainwashed into feeling they'd be safer if we gave government the power to decide which of us can own a gun and which can't. And that government can make up its own standards to decide it.
GREAT job, teachers. The big-government pushers are pleased with the amount of "education" these kids have completely missed out on.
Hmmm- the young speakers are remarkably thoughtful and articulate for people who "can't think but only react". Are you paying attention? You might want to: C-span is covering it live.
