Firearm safety courses are great, but shouldn't be mandatory as they are very expensive, and will prohibit the poor from legally owning a gun.

You must already pass a criminal background check to buy a gun.

Drug test? More $$$$, more obstacles.

Mental evaluation? Those determined to be mentally unfit are already prohibited from owning firearms.

How many guns do you own?
I own quite a few, and since i have taken the carry license course, I know it is not very expensive. I have also taken employment related drug tests, and know they are also not expensive. If you can afford to buy firearms, then you can easily afford the above. If you were going to inherit them, then the choice would be to sell them or get the license.

"Pass a criminal background check" before posting on the internet.

Who knows you could be a terrorist.

" Pass a basic firearms handling & safety course" Only if you exclude those that have served in the military

"- Pass a drug test " as long as it is required for EVERYBODY who receives any type of gov't money.

And continual random testing.

"- Pass a mental evaluation" not a bad idea except they are too subjective and certain criteria has to be established.
Do you have any ideas of your own, or is it just a "NO" to everything? It would be best to pass something reasonable rather than let Dems pass something unreasonable, which they will if nothing is done.

Shall issue means you have to prove WHY you want it.

Some states go by WILL issue unless something on your record indicates you shouldn't get 1.

BIG difference.

"Do you have any ideas of your own"

Maybe you should red some of my posts instead of acting stupid an making a fool of yourself.

" It would be best to pass something reasonable"

The problem is most people CANNOT agree on what is "reasonable"

As they say, "There is NO interest like SELF interest."

Some want to either get rid of the 2nd amendment altogether or modify it so it is meaningless.

IMO, MANY of the laws on the books today are in DIRECT contradiction of the 2nd Amendment.

This is the post that I responded to:

My reply was 100% correct, based on federal law. If you’d like to tell me your state, I’d be happy to address the state law issues.

Under federal law, it isn’t illegal to sell a gun to a prohibited person. It is illegal to sell a gun to someone that you know is a prohibited person. Big difference.

No license is required to make a Title 1 firearm.

There isn’t any law that prevents an individual from making a receiver! We know that. It’s simple to Google. I even posted a link to BATFE that says as much. And yet, people will still spout misinformation about things they know nothing about. Incredible!

So here it is again: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/does...m-personal-use

Do you really think that will make an AR-15 full auto? You’re WRONG! Those are only 2 of the 6 parts needed! As for laughing about using a router to complete the 80% lower receivers, laugh on! Only showing again how much you DON’T know!

But you can manufacture guns for yourself, legally, as long as you’re able to legally own them. For the third time, here’s the response directly from BATFE: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/does...m-personal-use

You missed the history between me and the poster that I was replying to. He thought that’s what it took to make a FA. I know better.
