Those who are paid for labor receive $1 a day, which violates minimum wage laws. These detainees are not convicted criminals, and many of them are eventually released, after their immigration hearings.
Tough, they violated US law, they should work for their meals.

Plenty of innocent people sitting in jail right now, who weren't arrested by ICE. Our Justice system isn't perfect and as noted, those that are wrongly arrested and imprisoned will seek compensation.

If you say so. That doesn't change the fact and I do mean fact, that people who knowingly enter this country illegally deserve Deportation as well as hefty fines. People who over stay VISA's deserve to be deported and should be. After paying hefty fines.
I love when people say children brought here by their parents can't be sent back because they don't know the language or culture. Yes because the parents assimilated instantly, no longer speak their native tongue in their homes, don't associate with others from their native country, etc. DEPORT them....
