It's a cult. Many of them deeply believe with a passion God made him president and any criticism of him means it's a criticism of God himself. Many of his supporters would die for him. It's straight up ISIS, North Korea, China.

You make a good point here. I think that explains one reason Trump supporters take any criticism of Trump so harshly and so personally. Most people I know could have a rational conversation about Obama and Hillary and could criticize them where they deserved criticism. Not so with Trump supporters. Criticizing Trump in any way might as well be blasphemy and is not tolerated.
