Any more nonsense? You look very foolish at the moment.

Edit-heres another one that has 2001 and more recent data. Crime is down.

So, just so we understand.....you posted a link for a post you responded to, that started the year after the person you were responding to said they left? And I'm the one that looks foolish?

O.K., great, now when called out, then you provide a different link, and call me foolish?

Maybe if you would have provided this link in your initial post....well...foolish..yea....

Where are you going to house these illegals in cities like LA? They put stress on a limited amount of homes or shelters when we could be taking care of our citizens.

Is there not a shortage of homes in LA? Are the prices not already too high? s there open section 8 housing ?

The King County courthouse is in the heart of downtown Seattle, not far from Elliot Bay. On the block where the main entrance is, there have been 380 assaults and 51 robberies reported, just in the past nine months. There is so much human waste on the sidewalk that crews have to pressure wash it on a daily basis, which of course is flushed down the storm drains. I'm sure the salmon appreciate that.

The former King County sheriff was once attacked outside the courthouse by a man with a pair of scissors. Jurors have been assaulted and threatened.

Seattle has been controlled by left-wing Democrats for decades. We now have a city council member who self-identifies as 'Marxist.' I don't think we have had a GOP mayor since James 'Dorm' Braman in 1964. I don't suppose the decades of far-left leadership could have anything to do with the above conditions. Nah, I'm sure the two are just random coincidence, totally unrelated. (/sarc)

Detroit, here we come!
That particular area has been like that to varying degrees for a very very long time. It's right next to Yesler Way - which is the street that coined the term "skid row." The problem there literally goes back a hundred years.

They'll make sure to keep the problems away from any really nice areas.

I attended the Seattle World's Fair way back when, in 1962, when I was in my teens. I remember taking the monorail from the fairgrounds to downtown Seattle and back, and being shocked by the large number of ragged, dirty derelict men lying and sitting on the public sidewalks. I had never seen so many in one place before.

I was later told I'd seen "Skid Row", the name deriving from the timber industry of the 19th century.

So derelicts are nothing new in Seattle, although it sounds like their numbers have increased. I expect drug addiction plus the closing of mental facilities and the end of most involuntary commitment are major factors these days - it would have been alcohol, most likely, back in 1962.

The west coast is a big draw for the itinerant homeless/hopeless - it's the jumping-off place; the end of the continent.

The end of the road, for many...

That’s disgusting. Why don’t they make it a law for homeless people to carry around pooper scoopers and throw their sh** away? Dog owners have to do it. Why not people?

It isn’t income inequality so much as it’s mental health and drugs. Poor people get services. Poor mentally ill people or drug addicts live on the streets because they are incapable of getting services, or don’t want them.
