Rank BS. I wouldn’t mind a woman president, but not Hillary, ever.

A close family friend is a well known national pollster. I told him that no matter how much I love and respect him, I wouldn't answer ant pollster including him, personally

He asked me why?

I didn't answer

I am in the 40%. I was a passionate supporter of Michele Bachmann. I value right wing ideology and I don't care which gender delivers it

...then you are in the 60% who do not "personally hope that the United States elects a woman".

Great point. I guess no black people wanted to throw their hats in the ring in the 1800s for some inexplicable reason. It’s a pity. I’m sure all who did would have gotten fair consideration.

Until we dismiss Identity Politics as a society, we will not be able to move forward, and be more united. This divisiveness is purposeful in an attempt to keep us weak, and not focused on the real issues, and big picture.

Your comment is that your only hope is that the President is qualified, correct? That gender doesn't matter?

Of course that's true.

Being qualified for the job is implicit. We all want the President to be qualified.
That's not what the question is asking.

The question is: do you hope to see a woman as President in your lifetime?

Let's say we have two equally qualified candidates, a man and a woman.

What would your answer be then?

My answer would be that yes, I'd like to see the woman get the job for a change. Amongst other reasons, I'd like to see how a qualified female candidate would handle the job. Plus we could catch up with the rest of the westernised world who have elected female leaders.

If your answer is still no then you have fallen in line with all the Republicans that also answered no.
No problem with that. That's your choice.

But it shows that there is no problem with the survey question.
I can't answer for that poster, but I would answer if b both are equally qualified I would want the candidate whose beliefs most closely represented my own.
I'll never want a candidate simply because of gender.. I dont care how qualified the individual may be, if their politics are hard right or hard left, that is a disqualifier.

tell me why we "need" a woman president in our lifetime? What do they do differently?
