Not really how it works. We get our gas supply mostly out of LA. Presently at $3.20 was $2.50 in January. Our taxes have not changed. I think CA taxes may have gone up a bit but there still is an apparent increase in price that mostly is not tax related. If I remember correctly this is the first up in CA gas taxes in something over 20 years.

It's possible to move about San Francisco without a car, so who cares? You have to own a car anywhere in Texas.

Texas gets exactly what it gets for also by voting Republican at the state level with low electric bills, low gas prices and no state income tax.

I wonder why liberals in San Francisco prefer $34 more to fill a 20 gallon tank as opposed to Texas gas station.

No better complement to President Trump's energy, than Texas state government which is overwhelmingly Republican and pro-Trump.

Low electricity prices per KWH due to our public servants deregulating our energy markets, so Texans have a choice.

Very low gas prices. Even though the $1.99 a gallon is only one station, many are less than $2.30 a gallon

No state income taxes for Texas workers, which means the savings than covers Texans gasoline and energy bills.

I am assuming that LA means Los Angeles in this situation? If so then it is likely the cost of refining in CA is much higher than the cost in Texas which would account for the price differentiation.

This is what people forget. When I lived in California, I made 3 times what I made in any other State. Yes, it costs more to live there, but it all balances out. There is no free lunch.

San Antonio has flawless sidewalks as opposed to the sidewalks that are falling apart in downtown Los Angeles.

Not only do San Antonio residents pay about $30 less to fill up to a 20 gallon as opposed to liberal California but there is 15 minute bus service on many routes, they run from 4am to 12:30am with very fast high-speed WiFi which is complementary to make the already fast trip because of the fantastic road network seem faster.

I wonder how clean the average bus is in San Antonio as opposed to San Francisco.

I have never been to San Francisco but I was on the blue line metro train in Los Angeles which is $100 a month for a pass and there was very smelly poop on the train. I was stunned because supposedly it is so common that people will sit next to it and not even notice.

San Antonio buses usually are very clean and move very fast in comparison to ones in other cities.

One can easily rent an apartment or single-family home of their choice with-in walking distance to work and grocery stories due to the high vacancy rates in San Antonio.

San Antonio has lots of rapid bus lines with 15 minute service and many start at 4am and run till 12:30am.

San Antonio buses have complementary high-speed WiFi and they clean them often.

Rates - VIA Metropolitan Transit

Only $38 a month for 15 minute service that runs till 12:30am

Why is it you do not mention property taxes? CA run well less than 1% of house values. How about TX.

And again it is not taxes. Something to do with the refining and related costs.
