This thread is why I'm not too worried about the immigration issue long-term. If Trump is right and his policies lead to more jobs, we will eventually be begging immigrants to come to this country. We simply don't have enough qualified workers domestically. On the other hand, if Trump is wrong and his policies wreck the economy, unemployment goes up and the incentive for people to come here disappears.
I am also not concerned about the immigration issue.
I am, however, concerned about the illegal immigration issue.
There are help wanted signs in stores everywhere for minimum wage jobs, anyone that wants to work is working. Middle class wages are still not rising and that has been a long term problem.
Just another reason why it was a terrible idea to take on new debt with the tax breaks, we will see how this plays out but where are these companies going to acquire workers at 3.9% unemployment.
Cherry picking metrics is hilarious. I've seen this in various forms but it always relies on focusing on the one metric that makes their side look good and the other look bad...
It's the main metric published today. I am sorry if it offends you when people discuss it.
Edited post to show the 3.9% unemployment rate. That means just about everyone who wants to work has a job.
Even those Millennials are having to come out of their parents basements to go to work.
They're not all lounging in basements by any means.
Just don't expect they will go get a job gutting your Sunday chicken for you.
Only the immigrants are still willing to do all that agricultural work.
I'm happy so many jobs are available for all these days.
