I was perusing school shooting stats and something stuck out...almost all shootings were at public schools..and they all were mixed gender schools.
Could it be that the solution..or at least a positive way to reduce shootings..is as simple as separating the genders past 6th grade?
I guess it would not make a big difference in the adults attacking students..but in the student attackers..which are the bulk of the shootings--might this change the dynamic enough to be worth trying?>
I've long thought that reducing the sexual tension that is part and parcel of adolescence would be a good thing...for both sexes.

Thoughts?
Thoughts?
If we did that the majority of school shootings would occur at sex segregated schools.
Kind of like how the majority of drunk driving convictions occur in cars
Could that be because most schools are public schools? And most are mixed gender?
Could that have anything to do with why most school shootings take place in public, mixed-gender schools?
Naah.
Good grief..really? I guess somehow you missed the point...which is to reduce the number of shootings..regardless of where they take place.
Do you think..if you would deign to take the question seriously..that the overall number of shootings would be less....if students were separated by gender?
The question is...would the 'majority of shootings' be a smaller number overall--compared to this year.
In all honestly? You might see some smaller number due to that, but you'd see a larger number due to other reasons. Mixed sexes in schools seem to have at least some moderating effect on some things.
We would also drive a sexual inequality issue that would become a worse issue as we segregated schools by sex. And we would spend a LOT more money.
