America is not going back to church. Our current moment in history is the last gasp of an ideology on its way out. I think it's time that the left becomes more outspoken against the theocracy that conservatives want to impose.
The end of the reign of pretend Christians (which Evangelicals absolutely are) can't come fast enough.

That's a sure strategy to win in 2020.

Who screams the most about identity politics while themselves participating in their own form of identity politics? White evangelicals.

Not all Trump supporters are religious and evangelical, but Trump received well over 90% of the evangelical vote, more than even George W. Bush received. Religion was a HUGE, if not the deciding factor in trump's win.

I am "irreligious" in the sense that I believe in God but belong to no specific denomination, and I voted for Trump, and plan on voting for him again.

I have been one of the "Nones" my entire life and see how it has grown. In no way is a "None" anti-Nun or a cause for liberal ant-Americanism. Liberals who have replaced or transferred religion to a political view are no more encouraging to this "None" because when I say NONE I mean NONE.
I don't see a need for more of the same, in different form, in the "Nones". I'm not a buyer of what you are selling. No true "None" would be IMO. At the core is the belief that it's none of your business or the business of anyone outside the view of the holder of the "Nones" and there is no need to convert as it is the practice of religion.

In fact this thread belongs in the religion forum but I'm not going to flag it.
The greater the exposure of foolishness the better in this case. IMO

Plenty of Trump supporters aren't evangelicals. It's a stereotype like saying all Dems are on welfare.

Pathetic. IMO, his lack of knowledge (Two Corinthians , etc.) should be even more disturbing to evangelicals than his lifestyle (marriages, affairs, etc..)

I hope that the 2020 Democratic nominee runs with that. Along with toxic masculinity and white women voting Trump because their husbands told them to. Winning strategies right there......................

That's nice. Evangelicals were hardly the 2016 difference. Deplorables rose up in the Rust Belt to MAGA.

Bless their hearts.
