From Power Line, a conservative blog run by a couple of sharp lawyers

"Why was the Watergate break-in more than just the “second rate” burglary Richard Nixon tried to pass it off as? Because it was directed by the president’s team at the Democratic National Committee. Thus, it was an offense against our two party system and our democracy. One political party is not supposed to steal information from the other party, and certainly not in the midst of a presidential campaign."

The Watergate comparison now looks apt | Power Line

I well remember how shocking Watergate was. My parents were floored by the break in. There are differences but the closer you look it's uncanny the similarities. More from Power Line -

"The Watergate burglars were associated with pro Nixon forces, including the Committee for the Re-Election of the President. The spy in the Trump campaign was not dispatched by an avowedly political organization, but rather by the FBI.

But the FBI was part of the Obama administration, and President Obama actively backed Trump’s opponent. We know, moreover, that key members of the FBI wanted desperately for Trump to lose. Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and Lisa Page may have lacked the direct connection to a presidential campaign that those behind the Watergate break-in — e.g. Jeb Magruder — had, but it’s not a stretch to view them in a similar light. In addition, there are indications that the White House was in the loop on their anti-Trump activities."

The truth about the FBI and the Obama administration is finally starting to come out. It's ugly time and it's going to get worse.

Here is a watergate connection.

An article of impeachment was levied against Nixon for abuse of power. The reason was he used his office to punish hios enemy the washington post.

Trump has ordered the post office to double its rate to Amazon. He is doing this because Bezos owns the Washington Post.

Talk about deja vu huh?

Yeah, that and the fact the post office is losing money on delivering packages for Amazon.

The truth is that the current situation is nothing like Watergate.

Watergate was some minor break in, what the Obama administration did was use the intelligence apparatus, and the FBI to conduct widespread spying on the opposing party's presidential campaign.

For everybody that is ok with that, just remember that you are saying that you are ok with Trump doing the same thing to his up coming opponent in 2020.

We now live in a country that all you need if for someone in the opposing campaign to go to a foreign country, that's it.

Find some low level campaign staffer that went overseas, write a phony "dossier", and presto, you get Title-1 FISA surveillance on the campaign.

This is Omama's legacy, open season on the opposing party's candidates.

The post office is losing money because the promised huge pensions to its retirees.

Online sales have been a boost to the post office, much better than when most of its business was post cards and letter.

Maybe the FBI should have been investigating Obama’s interference in Israel’s election.

Been saying for months that Watergate was child's play compared to the conspiracy of Comey-Brennan-Crapper to frame Donald Trump for non-existent crimes in order to depose him.

WaPo has their puff piece up to the Deep State this morning to compete with the NYT love letter to the Deep State...https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.6fc1685773ee

All I could think of is what has happened to the media? To Democrats and to liberalism? They've abdicated all common-sense. Is it really just Trump and their hatred of the man that is causing this astonishing embrace of the intelligence community and really despicable actors like Clapper and Brennan? Obama destroyed everything he touched.
