So like Iraq and Afghanistan we are staying forever.
Get out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Fine by me.

But don't double cross the Kurds.

The US has sold out the Kurds numerous times, I have no idea why they or anyone thinks any thing different now. I do not know if the US ever even promised them anything past what they supplied. Hell, Iraq ran them out of Kirkuk, and the Turks (NATO ally) are invading Syria and attacking the Kurds. The US assisted Saddam in targeting Kurdish areas with chemical weapons, then tried to blame Iran for it.

The Kurds are not and never have been important to the US, except for short-term issues. The Kurds, lacking any real central leadership, continue to be fractured, grasping at any thing given to them disregarding long-term strategies.

Where in the Constitution does it say to protect other nations borders?

Putin is trying to withdraw also. The idea is if Russia is leaving so should the US.

Their long-term strategy is a homeland of their own.

But it appears they are no closer to that then they were before they started fighting ISIS alongside the US.

I would say the homeland is a goal, not a strategy. Not playing semantics either, they have had a goal for who knows how long of a homeland of their own, but they really never had a cohesive, feasible strategy for obtaining it. I think this hinges on the fact that just because they are a nation/ethnic group, does not mean they all share the same values, goals, etc, thus creating a very fractured group, unable to gain traction by force and diplomatically.
