Yeah, let's not look at the whole picture of of the organization that Pope represents.
You're not looking at the whole organization you're cherry picking facts because you don' like that this Pope said. "God made you like this and loves you". So you are looking for ways to say his opinion doesn't matter because of X, Y and Z.
Regardless if one is a believer or not this is significant because there is an indication that views on homosexuality are moving from the realm of tolerance to acceptance. His comment is a barometer that there is a shift in motion in the direction of acceptance.
In the story of the adulterous woman, the Pharisees bring the woman to him saying, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”
Jesus begins writing with a stick on the ground while they pepper him with more questions.
He finally says to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
Eventually they all walk away.
Jesus desires to give people mercy, but there's a condition that you conveniently left out: one must leave their life of sin.

In my opinion these Trump supporters are like the modern day Pharisees. They are always trying to ram the Bible down everyone else's throat by force yet they tolerate and even cover up "sin" within their own ranks. The harshest words of Jesus in the entire Bible were for the Pharisees.

It's amusing that the pretend "Christians" will rail against homosexuality and use Sodom and Gomorrah as their example, but will completely disregard the real message of that scripture. The poor? The needy? Who the hell cares about them? Got to make sure we always vote for the politicians who will strive to cut them off of any aid and let them die of want or need.

what do you think caring for the poor and needy means? Praying for them? Yeah, all your phony prayers don't fill hungry bellies, don't put roofs over people's heads, don't provide medicine for the sick. Sit in your church every sunday faking piety while eagerly supporting politicians who will cut aid to the neediest among us, and feel oh so holy in your hypocrisy.

They practice how they feel by tithing? Do you do that? I do, with a twist. Tithing is donating 10% of your income to charity. I do 16% , as I want it to be 10% NET, not 10% Gross, which would be less costly.
Says the Holy Bible, which is inspired by God. During Jesus' day, it was well established in the Jewish world that homosexuals, who were referred to as sodomites, engaged in abominable behavior because that's what the law of Moses taught. Jesus never corrected that assumption and only acknowledged a marriage relationship between a man and a woman.
