There is a difference between tolerance and acceptance. The Pope is showing tolerance. That's a healthy example of a good leader.
Yes, that directly contravenes/opposes/undermines the fundamental scriptures and holy texts of the religion he represents.

That's the entire point. Its all crap. The whole thing is phony, and the Pope is a nutter. Like most religious people, he doesn't ACTUALLY believe in his own religion. He picks, and chooses the pieces he finds acceptable. What kind of fundamental overarching theory of everything is that?

Sorry, but "anything goes" is never going to be the basis of any system of rigor that is designed to help understand the world or even any fictional construction like religion. If it isn't self-consistent it is meaningless prattle.

That's only your opinion because many others know otherwise. Your lack of experience means nothing.

Glad to see the Pope spread love and tolerance instead of hate and bigotry. God Bless him.

It's not an opinion. It's fact. The Bible was written and compiled by human beings.

I think this Pope has pride in his own words which is a sin for him. I think he loves to be in the papers.

Bad news for Catholics.
Nonsense, Catholics priests at one time were allowed to marry and at some point may be allowed to marry again. Most Catholics are quite accepting and some even quite open minded on this topic. They let God be the judge when that time comes, not you or me.

How do you expect to be taken seriously with gibberish like this post?

IOW, you'd have us take the word of a religious book even though you tell us religion is phony.

What I get is that your statements are self-cancelling.

To honestly claim "many others know" would require facts.

As is it's merely your O-P-I-N-I-O-N.

Peter, who is widely considered to be the first pope of the church, was married...

Also during the First Council of Nicea, Constantine rejected the idea of celibacy for priests.

The First Council of Nicea: Proposed Action on Clerical Celibacy

Quote:
Often the mind of a deliberative assembly is as clearly shown by the propositions it rejects as by those it adopts, and it would seem that this doctrine is of application in the case of the asserted attempt at this Council to pass a decree forbidding the priesthood to live in the use of marriage. This attempt is said to have failed.

God is responsible for the Holy Bible. Your lack of experience and understanding about these matters is irrelevant.
