Trump's language, overall, is really the most un-American of any president.

The Egalitarians
Sophia Rosenfeld, The Nation

Donald Trump almost never utters the words “liberty” or “equality.” With little fanfare, he has abandoned perhaps the two most traditional and aspirational touchstones of American political life... With Trump at the lectern, what we get instead are references to deal-making, money, and a temporally unspecific kind of national greatness associated with being “tremendous” and, always, “a winner.” This entrepreneurial jargon is then mixed with words and images intended to stoke anger and fear...

And Trump has a very limited vocabulary. If you listen to any of his speeches (if you have the stomach) you will see he has to keep repeating the same things over and over again, because he can not get past very primitive, crude, and uneducated ideas.

I think that is one of the things about him that appeals to his base. He speaks in terms they are familiar with and can understand. A person with more intelligence and grasp of the English language would bore them to death, he is like going to the circus.

Very true. Reportedly, Trump's vocabulary didn't use to be quite so limited, which is leading some people to suspect he's in the early stages of senile dementia.

It's so sad to think, though, that people want a president who's just as dumb and inarticulate as they are/

I love the circus analogy!

Agreed...good assessment.

He's a pill, for sure. I no longer listen to his speeches, as I literally felt nausea coming on when I have in the past.

He is a very stable genius with ine the highest IQS and the best words. On a serious note, take away his grandstanding and theatrics and it's amazing to try to decipher his incredible use of language.

“Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart —you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you’re a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.”

President Trump says things that you leftists don't get. He is saying so much more than you all can understand. He knows what he is doing and his supporters get it.

Oh yes, gems like:

"He's not a war hero. He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."

"Nobody knew healthcare was so complex."
