The world has devolved so low that confiscating the weapons, whether guns or knives, is the proposed solution.

"A judge has proposed a nationwide programme to file down the points of kitchen knives as a solution to the country’s soaring knife crime epidemic.

Last week in his valedictory address, retiring Luton Crown Court Judge Nic Madge spoke of his concern that carrying a knife had become routine in some circles and called on the Government to ban the sale of large pointed kitchen knives.

Latest figures show stabbing deaths among teenagers and young adults have reached the highest level for eight years, and knife crime overall rose 22 per cent in 2017.

In the past two months, he said, there have been 77 knife-related incidents in Bedfordshire, including three killings."

What an idiot.

Just make knives illegal. That way only criminals will have knives.

The press should ask the judge if he has any sharp knives.

Rather got a kick out of thinking of this tonight.

I was making a salad and wanted to add some citrus to it but all I had was one, old, shrunken lime.

It was hard slicing it into two, so I poked it with the point to open it up and then sliced it.......but could I have done it without the point?

When one considers the irony of the people who created the practice of carrying limes on long voyages and then not being able to use them if the prescribed practice was around.................

Isn't this the third or fourth thread on this.

The views of a retiring Judge are just that his own personal views, and there are no plans to introduce such legislation.

In terms of knife rime police are looking to emulate the sucessful Violence Reduction Unit which has seen knife crime fall in Scotland, whilst the work of the Integrated Gangs Team in the London borough of Islington has also been very succesful in reducing knife crime and violent crime.

Other schemes are also being trialled in relation to organised drug gangs.

Now that is a really good idea! I'm happy to see other countries actually doing something about their violence!
