This isn't nearly enough. Much more needs to be cut. If there are any vacant jobs in the fed gov that have been that way for 3 months axe them. Salary savings is BS.

We use our military for things that other countries use their regular government for, R&D for example. We're also a 20 TRILLION dollar economy with assets all over the world that need to be protected. We weren't even considered a super power before the creation of the MIC.

Unlike most other countries. Most of our governing is done at the state/local level. Our federal government doesn't need to be nearly as big.

Gov't agencies don't answer the phone anyway, in my experience. They send you straight to voice mail EVERY TIME, and then you have to sit and wait for them to return your call. I asked a boss once what would happen if we did that at our private company. He said that we would go out of business.

Any cut in government employees has a greater than average potential for cutting the non-productive. And, yes many are damp creatures. Just like any swamp being filled with higher and lower life forms.

Oh, and you failed to be nonpartisan in identification of elected swamp creatures

Not the office people given the jobs to carry out filing, typing, etc.

America spends more on the military than China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, India, France, United Kingdom, Japan and Germany combined.

Do you believe we need to spend more on the military to keep America safe?

Donald Trump wants to increase military spending.

Then republicans want to cut Social Security and Medicare spending.

Considering how much America spends on the military, which is a better choice. To increase military spending and cut Social Security and Medicare, or to decrease military spending and increase Social Security and Medicare spending?

Good move for President Trump. The only thing that needs to get bigger (besides our improving economy, thank you very much) is our military, not our government. Another Trump promise is being fulfilled and is long overdue.

Did my post mention anything about military or social security? The fed gov is bloated with positions beyond belief which includes the military brass and every other department. Do less with less. This does include entitlements.
