I live in Kentucky, which as you know is a very Red State.
We have had droughts too, here in our city of Lexington...several over the last few decades.
When they did, and it got really bad....they had a rationing of water here also.
When resources are limited, there is really nothing left to do.
It really has nothing to do with being a blue state or a red state.
Yes, it does. "Blue state" California's government is making natives suffer for its policy decision to welcome illegal aliens.
Well maybe the cities and counties need to do something about sprinklers that are watering when it is raining.
A lot of places I've seen (not all) have the sprinklers on a program where the times they go off are when people are asleep/not at home (if a residence), or not in the office (if a business.) But now they're making sprinkler controllers that can tell if it's raining, or if the ground already has enough water, so the sprinklers won't run. I'm looking into getting one for my house, since I'm one of those who has the times set for long before we wake up, or after we've gone to sleep.
Exactly. Most of CA was a desert, is a desert, and will still be a desert 10,000 years from now. Even cities along the coast such as San Diego and Santa Barbara are naturally desert. What people are calling a drought is normal CA climate. Many states, like KY for example can get more rain in one week than those cities get in one year, and that's normal.
There's only so much water they can suck out of the ground or bring down from the Sierra snow melt. The options are limited. You either restrict water usage, especially for lush landscapes or you limit the population.
San Diego and Santa Barbara have a semi-arid climate. Santa Barbara averages 19.41 inches of rain per year, far more than a desert climate gets (under 10 inches per year). There are no deserts on the California coast. You have to go well inland to get into a desert climate (Antelope Valley, Coachella Valley, etc.).

Nonsense. CA is simply refusing to attack long term residents for a law that the Federal government refuses to enforce or fix. Basically it is not CA's problem and no reason for them to persecute their residents to enforce a totally unenforceable law.
The poor including illegal aliens are not the water wasters. That is middle class and up.

Everyone is a water user, and LOL at the idea that there aren't middle-class illegals.
Conservatives give illegal immigrants an awful lot of power. According to them, they are the cause of the decay and destruction of America.
