It's always been entertaining that the leftists who don't understand the Constitution - many never having even read it - have suddenly started within the last year or so calling everything they don't like a "Constitutional Crisis".

Check out especially the video in the article. It's a compilation of clips where they newsreaders are repeating "constitutional crisis" for every event under the sun. Complete with solemn voices and glowering crack-of-doom facial expressions. About a minute and a half long, quite funny.

Cable Fearmongering: Everything Is a 'Constitutional Crisis'

By Bill D'Agostino | June 5, 2018 10:04 AM EDT

The Chicken Littles of cable news are in a full-scale panic over the latest fantasy disaster that hasn’t happened yet. Over the weekend, TV talking heads burst into flame in anticipation of the supposed “constitutional crisis” that might ensue if President Trump were to pardon himself – which he has not done, and which his lawyer has flatly stated he “has no intention” of doing.

If it seems cable TV is perpetually consumed with speculation about a non-existent “constitutional crisis,” that’s because they are. Two weeks ago, Chuck Todd led off MSNBC's MTP Daily by proclaiming: “The constitutional crisis alarm bells are ringing,” and asked with apparent concern, “Is anybody listening?”

Todd’s dire warning was a reaction to an entirely different story: the President’s demand for an investigation into whether the FBI had used an informant to spy on his 2016 campaign. This also sparked an emotional diatribe by CNN analyst Max Boot, who ranted that Trump’s behavior was “a shocking breach of democratic norms,” and an “assault on the Constitution.”

This has nothing to do with the left or the right but rather the desperate push for ratings in the face of declining cable viewership and market segmentation.

Everything is a "crisis" and when the OTHER party has the presidency then they're just the biggest target around.

We are in the "porcelain" era of journalism, I rank it right there with the horrible journalism of the early 1900's.

Standard leftist playbook: scream and call people names. The MSM all take their cues from this and so all the coverage is slanted exactly the same way and uses the same tactics.

-basket of deplorables (cue list of fake made up "phobias" designed to demonize anyone who objects)
-bitter clingers (people who demand to exercise their natural and civil rights of freedom of religion and RKBA)
-constitutional crisis (somehow can never manage to identify what section/clause of the Constitution is being violated)
-attack on our democracy (what this means nobody really knows which is convenient ...its mostly anything that hurts the left)
-Russian troll (see also "everyone I don't like is a Russian Troll). Suddenly Russians are everywhere. Those sneaky reds!
-white nationalist (when white people want to preserve their nations and demographics ...never a problem when other people want to do the same thing though)
-white supremacist (when confronted by the reality that people are not all the same...the inevitable conclusion that some are better in some regard/metric causes cognitive dissonance and the name calling starts anew)
-the patriarchy. (must demonize the fact that the sexes are different , and that these differences are functional and manifest in a variety of ways)
-resist (a polite word for criminal acts, treasonous attempts at willful defiance of the law, and in general for a coup against Donald Trump)
-alt-right (the portion of the right that isn't rollover RINOs willing to capitulate to leftist/prog agendas)

etc and so forth. Its basically endless.

The only constitutional crisis right now is the FBI witch hunt against Trump and unelected “judges” acting like dictators and invalidating rules made by a democratically elected president.

When a president starts suggesting he may pardon himself....its not at the crisis stage, but its certainly threatening to be there.

Originally posted in the wrong thread -- but --- someone took a month's worth of videos from a bunch of stations and came up with a minute and a half of stuff as evidence of some kind of trend.

Oh......these channels are on 24/7 -- you figure 24 hours x 60 minutes x 30 days ---- oh forget it -- you get my point -- lol.

If a president were to attempt to pardon himself it would cause a large Constitutional issue.

This idea is controversial? You can bet it would make it's wy to the Supreme Court pronto.

The cable news (a.k.a infotainment) networks need to fail.

Memo To All: Cut the cable TV cord today! I did it almost a month ago.

People can't live in a state of hysteria indefinitely. It's exhausting. That is why the ratings of so called news shows are dropping. People are sick of it.
