WOW is all I can say to One f the DUMBEST post I ever seen on here and I’ve been on here a good while, anyone who agrees with you needs to have thier voting privileges taken away.
The majority of the voting public agrees with me as they voted Trump and even the liberals back space missions and investment.
To resist space travel, which is the future, is like resisting the invention of the automobile. We might as well be first and reap the rewards economically (jobs), militarily and scientifically.
I like that Trump is open to private industry paying for some rockets ("Those billionaires love rockets!") and paying us rent for our launch facilities.
Watch the speech given before an audience of industry CEOs and Buzz Aldrin (!) whose companies will be participating. Trump starts off by addressing the media hysteria about the border migrants for a few minutes, then introduces people involved in the Space Force.
Those of you with small kids might want to get them more interested in doing their science homework, "When you grow up you can join the Space Force and fly to Mars!"
To be fair, space is the ultimate high ground. If someone can dominate our orbit with weapons they can literally hold the world hostage. They don't even have to be nukes or conventional war heads. The velocity/ energy of a kinetic weapon would be massive. I was under the impression that treaties had been signed banning weapons on space based platforms.
