Beg to differ. Maybe you can't own the property but you can get a 100 year lease. DH worked for a guy who is in on the original 26 or whatever families. he built polo fields with houses surrounding the fields to lease to American and European polo players. we could get a 4000 square ft house, furnished with a maid and gardener for 600 a month.
A relative works down on the Baja, building for Americans. He's been doing it for 25 years.
Title is held by Mexican Bank trust for 50 years renewable for another 50.
I looked at some ocean front property in Cabo didn't trust the Mexican Fideicomiso anytime at the Gov's whim
they can kick you out and you lose everything.
Americans owned property in Cuba at one time until communists said the didn't.
I'm glad I did't buy in Cabo- Drug Cartels are pushing into tourist areas shooting and torturing due to Gov. pressure on them they said they would target tourists .
I ended buying property in Panama and in Tromso Norway less Volatility.

My kids are considering Panama.
Nephew has all kinds of investments on the Baja. His sister is going down there, too. But, should the worst happen, they can stand the loss. But they have no fear.

I have a pipeline to people in the Federales and was told that the Cartels in order to put pressure on Mex politians are going to start kidnapping tourists especially Americans. MAGAKAGA
FYI in Panama look for something in the mountains 30 minutes from beach. Beach area get 100 degrees ultra humid and tons of bugs- Mountains Spring like weather to 70s cool keeps the skeeters away you can get to beach in minutes.

Trump should shame Mexico for running a 2nd-and-a-half world embarrassment that it's own people can't wait to flee.
The current President, whatever his name is, was outraged Trump wanted to make Mexico pay for a wall. This guy needs to be smacked with a white glove across the face and reminded of what a dishonorable coward he is for having the audacity to run such an awful country.
People want to give foreigners artificial "rights" yet want to remove, and/or limit existing, legitimate rights from American citizens that fund everything.
