The only poll that matters is not until November 5, 2020. That is the next time President Trump is on a ballot.
Maybe.. I'd say its about even money that he won't. In the meantime, historically the prez's approval rating is a bellwether for the outcome of the congressional races.
Most people will have forgotten about this in a month, maybe Even get sick of it since the dems are overplaying their hand.
I think you are right-most Trump supporters will. But the independents? And the Democrats? Nah this is going to leave a mark. The GOP must be a bit upset that Trump did this so close to the midterms. Yeah the base loved punishing foreign kids, but the base was going to vote R anyways. The independents though? Not so much.

25000 more illegals with children are expected to come over the border this summer. There is no room for families even if they wanted to keep them together. They are going to have to go back to catch and release. In the meantime, hundreds, if not a thousand or more kids will be "lost" perhaps never to be re-united with their families (they should have chipped them). That will stay in the news.
