I can't even wrap my brain around this unbelievable figure.

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/j...152127913.html

Quote:
Jeff Bezos is the richest person in modern history.

The Amazon.com Inc. founder’s net worth broke $150 billion in New York on Monday morning, according to theBloomberg Billionaires Index. That’s about $55 billion more than Microsoft Corp. co-founderBill Gates, the world’s second-richest person.

Bezos, 54, has now topped Gates in inflation-adjusted terms. The $100 billion mark that Gates hit briefly in 1999 at the height of the dot-com boom would be worth about $149 billion in today’s dollars. That makes the Amazon chief executive officer richer than anyone else on earth since at least 1982, when Forbes published its inaugural wealth ranking.

Pretty impressive. He's got a dollar for every star in the Milky Way galaxy, going by conservative estimates.

Yep, I know many that work for Amazon and they can attest to that "fact." I wouldn't want to work for him but you have to admit he has a formula for great financial success.

They dont have a degree and deserve what they get. No skill losers. (Do I get a cookie for saying it first?)

I know a few. Pretty much including one who now works for Walmart because, "They dont pay as much but they treat me WAY better." Yes really, Walmart.

*That being said, who your manager is makes all the difference in that kind of job. A great boss who simply treats you like a human, and at least has half a heart, can make a crappy job bearable.

Amazon warehouse employees recieve the same benefits as Amazon corporate employees including:

Competitive Pay
Subsidized Healthcare Insurance
Fully paid for Disability, Life, Dental and Vision Insurance
Choice of several Retirement Savings Plans
Accued Sick, Personal and Vacation Time
Company Stock
Up to 20 weeks Paid Leave
Pre- paid 95% of tuition costs for courses related to in demand fields, regardless if such skills are relevant to Amazon.

Amazon intends to build a second headquarters in North America. Many cities, including Toronto, are competing to be the chosen one. The headquarters is projected to create up to 50,000 new corporate jobs- a game changer for the city that wins. This does not include the construction and infrastructure jobs that will be created.

Trump flies to Wisconsin to welcome a Taiwan company who will take profits out of the US and ignores the single largest US job creator. Amazon created more jobs last year than most states did.

Bezos was born to a 17 year old high school student who later married a Cuban immigrant who adopted him and gave him the family name. He attended public schools in Houston and Miami.

I won’t buy from Amazon because they treat their employees badly.

Bezos is no Bill Gates. Not even close.

And LOL at the part about competitive pay. Yeah... if you're an executive maybe. If you're looking for part time work you'll find a lot of it around here that's for sure.

Enjoy that $13 an hour with management standing by the timeclock making sure you aren't 14 seconds late coming back from your break. I know quite a few people who took part time gigs at Amazon... and all of them quit within a few months.
