This is not about harsh vs soft. It's about strong vs. weak. Trump is weak on Russia. He has evidence handed to him from the best intelligence agencies in the world showing what Russia did and he refuses to acknowledge it because it might reflect badly on him. Where I come from, that's called weakness. He needs to stand up tall and take a firm stance against Russia, back his own people, and put his country before himself or his ego.
So..... What do you suppose Trump lambasting Putin in public would have resulted in?

Wanting Peace and civil relations with Russia, is now treason. You will get called a traitor.

My GOD PEOPLE! Do you not see how deranged this is, to take a stance that is so irrational and not see how you are losing elections?
Yeah, all the peaceniks have turned warmongers. The same party that took down the CIA by their Frank Chruch committee now bows at the altar of the CIA. Watch for the House Un-American activities committee to be chaired by Maxine Waters. Have you no shame Sir!

Democrats can’t make up their minds why they think Trump is a traitor. If Trump wants peace, they will say he’s a traitor. If Trump leads us to war, they will say he’s a traitor.

Whatever is the flavor of the day. The only thing consistent is to hate Trump.

Sorry--not buying it. This is an extremely confrontational person who literally loves fighting with people. His thousands and thousands of lawsuits demonstrate that, as well as his fighting with everyone he works with, except Sean Hannity and the guy who owns the Enquirer, he fights with the cities he lives in, people he has imagined slighted him. He definitely enjoys discord and chaos.

Nothing personal, but the idea that Trump does anything out of a sense of altruism or for 'peace' is pretty laughable. Have you ever lived around this guy? Sounds like you haven't.

It would have shown Americans that our president was on our side, fighting for America, and not the side of the KGB.

Unfortunately, Trump showed us that America is not where his loyalties lie.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is a term applied by some writers and commentators to describe a type of criticism of US President Donald Trump by liberals, progressives, and Never Trump conservatives, who are said to respond to statements and political actions by Trump in a manner verging on the irrational, with little regard to his actual position or action taken.

The "syndrome" into 3 stages; in the first, those who "lose all sense of proportion," (ex.. it's Armageddon) next, they experience "a profound effect on ... vocabulary" and begin to "speak a language consisting solely of hyperbole," and, in the final stage, the afflicted "lose the ability to distinguish progaganda from reality.

I'm sorry it has not been proven. It hasn't even gone to court yet. No one of us knows what evidence the intelligence community has. You're believing our intelligence on blind faith? How very uncritical of you.

There is also a pot meets kettle here because the US has been meddling in everyone's elections - to the point of even disposing of democratically elected leaders. If some Russians made FB pages and spread fake news at the behest of the Russian government - is that really meddling? Not really.

If Russia hacked the DNC and released hacked files - that's worse but also fairly common place. When you work for cyber security for the US government you understand that everyone is hacking everyone. The US is hacking Russia and China on a daily basis and the opposite is happening.

This is not new to this election. It's been going on for a while.

Pushing this Russia hacked our election narrative only keeps our countries apart and keeps tensions high (increasing probability of a war). You don't need to want a war to be acting like an useful idiot for people much smarter than you who do want constant conflict with Russia. The entire US military complex justifies its existence by positioning Russia as an enemy.

What kind of question is that??? Here is an idea....He should have confronted Putin on these Russian military personnel in the recently issued Grand Jury indictment and pressed him on it. That is what an American President does. It doesn't mean that we are going to war but we have evidence of this and this is not acceptable and we will not tolerate it. What Trump did was roll over and did not stand up for this country. And he communicated to the world that it is OK to walk all over the US. Thats why the sheer outrage is on both the left and right right now. He threw the American people under a bus.

Democrats complained about Trump and his bellicosity with North Korea but are at the same time screaming bloody murder when he tries to befriend and sooth tensions with Russia.

Of course, most of the Democrats are basically sheep who just take their viewpoints from Maddow or Lemon.

It's a rational question... Every action results in a reaction. What do you suppose Trump lambasting Putin in public would have resulted in?

How would liberals and Democrats react?
How would Putin react?

Could Democrats and Liberals ever be happy with anything Trump does?
