Update: Saltgrass Steak House says the employee faked the note at the top of a receipt, and the banned customer has been invited back to dine at the restaurant.

Wow, banned guy now invited back? How nice of them.
At a minimum I'd sue the waiter for defamation and let him pay me $50/month for the rest of his life.
I'd also go over social media and see if anyone else, including the restaurant made any statements that might warrant litigation (or at least file suit and let them sweat it out).
Would be curious if anyone apologized to the guy after the dog pile?

This is what people slimed by these false accusations and super reactionary dogpilings need to be doing every single time. They should sue every single person involved in the knee jerk hysteria that ruins their lives, going for max possible punishment allowed by law.
Maybe, just maybe if that happened more often, people wouldn't be so quick to assume guilt and then pass/carry out sentence. Maybe, they'd wait for all the facts to come in before knee jerk ruining an innocent person's life.
The customer who got accused should destroy Khalil Cavil's life at a minimum, and hopefully put the Saltgrass Steak House out of business. It would serve all of them right.
Not sure why people feel the need to fake racism, there’s plenty that is recorded and put on social media weekly. Or they could just look at this forum.
Yep, server POed over no tip with $108 bill. He got fired.
The receipt shows no tip, but it's nonetheless possible the customer left a cash tip on the table.
We have only Kahlil Cavil's word that he received no tip at all. And he's the same guy who lied about the customer leaving the derogatory note on the receipt. We haven't seen any account from the maligned customer. I suspect that the customer's side of the story may be quite enlightening in this episode.
Further...we also have only Kahlil Cavil's assurance that the level of service he rendered actually merited a tip. For all we know, he could given this customer lousy service, called him a racist in public, gotten him banned from the restaurant, and still expected a tip out of a misbegotten sense of entitlement.
Given the events that followed, it seems fairly clear that Mr. Cavil had things on his mind other than delivering prompt, courteous service. Such as libeling customers and setting up GoFundMe pages to capitalize on the 3rd-party pity factor, for instance.
Yep, sounds like that's what happened. Waiters don't like to get stiffed.
At this point, considering the attempt to destroy this guys life over less than $20 (if true)....I'm not going to give any credence to the non-tipping claim as the waiter is already a proven liar.
