What the problem with this?
What you're describing is pretty much the definition of a sellout.

This Tweet about the article is eye openning:

No White House logs. No readouts of calls w/foreign leaders. 2 hours w/Putin w/no one else present. No press conferences. Two days a week at his private club. No tax returns. Close family members as senior advisers. Trump has successfully privatized the Presidency.
The man is obsessed with secrecy.

An informed public is not in his best interest.

Oh come on, people, nobody on the right thinks that the precedent is a little scary? Someday the White House will be occupied by the opposite party again. Are you sure you approve of this?

I don't blame the WH for doing this because the media just bends and twists what was said or even make up the story to fit their agenda of Anti Trump propaganda anyway.

Can we at least agree that transparency is important regardless of which side occupies the Oval Office?

"Non-public readouts will still be distributed to agencies but press will reportedly be told only certain details of the calls."

This will affect media that publish pro-Trump propaganda too.

I disagree with the point. While avoiding media spin may be attractive to the WH, we have a long tradition of transparency on these things.
