"Next time" is right around the corner...….November. See you there !
And what will people like yourself do if the world comes crashing down on you by not winning either the House or Senate in November?
I think some of you are expecting a huge win like you expected in 2016 yet failed horribly. The chances of Democrats winning both the House and Senate are mediocre to poor at best. If you fail to win either will you concede that "elections have consequences" or just continue with tirades about Russia for the next two years?
Every one of Cortez communist picks lost the left poured money into the Ohio race and got out 90% of the vote to the Republican 52%. You fired all the ammo you had and lost. You think this is winning? I will take Trumps version of winning over yours.
Where do you come up with this crap that the Democrats got out 90% of the vote and the GOP 52%?
lmao, this isn't horseshoes. You win or you lose. Democrats lost. Finding that silver lining in that is humorous. Good luck in your search for reality.
Democrats narrowly lost a heavily GOP seat. The Democrats path to the House is on flipping swing seats and marginal seats. Getting this close in a district like this us a good sign for those seats.
Democrats spend 10s of millions of dollars to flip seat. Hollywood gets involved. Throws their "best" at it too. Corrupt pollsters tell people Democrats will win.
Real progressives voted for Jill Stein's Green Party. Cant stand the Democrat.
MSM tells Democrats they are winners and give them participation certificate. They believe it.
And the biggest news of the night? Trump's endorsement turned it around. They hate that most of all.
So despite what the OP says, this is another stinging loss for the Democrats in a state that was once strongly Blue. Why? They don't have a message that anyone there wants. But if the Democrat thinks hopium and unobtainium wins elections, who am I to stand in their way. Please carry on as another member of this site likes to say.
Comparing special elections to general elections is apples and oranges. Bottom line, we'll find out in November if there is a Blue Wave, or the Republicans hold Congress.
Ohio has always been a "flip-flop" state -- sometimes it goes Republican and sometimes it goes Democrat, and for years, political commentators have said something like, "As Ohio goes, there goes the nation" when it comes to electing POTUSes. Ohio has incorrectly voted for the winner only once since 1944 and that was for Nixon, one of the closest POTUS elections in history.
So, I think that Ohioans actually reflect the mood of the nation, and when they tend to turn away from the political party they voted for in the last election, it is usually as a backlash to that party's (or POTUS's) policies. The fact that Ohio went from a 52% to 44% vote for Trump vs. Clinton to a VERY thin win for a Republican in what was considered to be an easy win election is VERY telling, I think.
If I were a Republican, I would be very worried about the mid-term elections.
For the (D)'s to take back anything they have to find something to run on other than RUSSIA!!
To win the (D)'s need voters like me and unless you have policies I support and I actually believe you support them, I'm voting third party.
BS.... O'Connor didn't even mention A***** Trump or Russia!
