Chuck and other democrats used to be for controlling illegal immigration and realizing that it is a threat to national security. Why are they back tracking now and fighting for open borders. It makes no sense on how they used to have common sense, but now have become so radicalized that all common sense went out the window.

One of the big reasons is illegal immigrants do affect the Presidential election, House votes and distribution of federal funding. The census count includes illegal immigrants, that is used to allocate House seats/Electoral college votes and federal funding where it's based on population.
Politico outlined a possible but unlikely scenario where the illegal population could of been the deciding factor and produced a win for Hillary.
As noted in that article CA has an estimated 5 extra House seats/Electoral College votes, NY 2, TX 2 and WA 1. If those seats were reallocated based on the legal population they would go to ten different states that are red/purplish, all ten of them went for Trump this last election.

Funny, I really haven't seen legislation that is put on the table to severely punish the employer that employs all of these illegals....... I'm starting to realize why. Damn that lobby money, it's messing the integrity of our elected officials.

There are laws on the books to severely punish those who "knowingly" hire illegal aliens. The problem is that illegal aliens produce such authentic looking fake documents that without e-verify in place it's hard to tell that they are here illegally. Sometimes the personnel dept. knows it but they don't care. Of course some employers do know it and when caught they are held accountable. There have been many cases of late where they have been. Raids on businesses have been reinstated by Trump.
There is no need to hire illegals aliens for farming jobs as there are unlimited visas for those jobs and only 2% of illegals are working in that industry anyway. They have however flooded the construction industry and many other blue-collared jobs.

That's a very good idea. We should appeal to Congress to have this enacted.
The Democrats should have benefited from their unfair tactics and still got their ass beat 304-223.
