How do you Trumpies feel about his praising Manafort

Trump has a lot of sympathy for criminals like himself. For other struggling Americans, not so much.

Back to my original point, a lot of moderate Republicans won't be voting for Trump round 2.
If there is a viable Third Party ticket ( perhaps a Republican/ Democrat) in 2020, anything could happen.

On the other hand, if Trump ceased his tweetstorms and moderated his rhetoric, his popularity would soar, at least for now.

Back to the poll.

Trump can pardon federal convictions. Manafort faces another Federal trial with an unknown outcome. It’s possible Manafort could be retried on the 10 counts that resulted in a hung jury. Seems a pardon would be a tad premature.

Trump cannot pardon a state conviction. The Southern District of NY will go for Manafort and Trump can’t fire that court.

Cohen’s lawyer has made clear his client will cooperate with the investigation.

Imagine if Bill Clinton fired Ken Starr as Special Counsel. Both the appointment of Star and Manafort included broad powers to go where the investigation leads. It certainly did with the Clintons and is doing so, again.

After 7 years, the Clinton investigations did not result in evidence sufficient to charge the Clintons with a crime. His denial of the consensual Monica Lewinsky thing did him in. At the time, Trump made clear that Clinton should not have responded and was a victim of bad lawyering.

What is your point?

Should we all get to cheat on our taxes with impunity? Are you advocating that to be fair everyone get a shot at a cheating?
