I ask today what has happened to that feeling of Pride in ones country? We now have attacks from within by mask wearing thugs where one side is opposed to another and will physically attack the other in so called "peaceful protests" turned riots.
We have political attacks on our Police whom 17 years ago were heralded as heroes but are now accused of being a problem in race relations for doing their jobs.
We have kneeling football players.
We have politicians that are flaunting and disregarding common sense established laws to better improve their election chances.
We have politicians that are actively dividing us and harming America though they told us how important it was for our Democracy to have a peaceful transfer of power but of course that was when they thought their candidate was going to win.
We have people that desecrate and burn our Flag in their misguided petty protests.
Hollywood after 2001 turned out movies that had pride in America but today not so much and in the upcoming movie about the moon landings they purposely omitted the American flag.

What has happened to America since September 11th 2001 to have us so divided and at each other?

What happened to the Patriotic feelings that we are all in this together?

Will it take another tragedy to make us forget the petty squabbling and unite us again?
Several things happened. The biggest one I could think of is the Bush administration took full advantage of America's emotions and used it to get us into wars with countries that had nothing to do with 9/11, all because he wanted to continue what his father started back in the late 80's, early 90's.

Then they used 9/11 to create the Patriot Act, and TSA, and Americans felt their privacy was being violated with these laws.

And I will also blame the media, who are using every little story they can find to bring the US moral down and divide the nation.

The important thing is when there is need we the people will still set aside our differences to come together, I believe we are still capable of doing so in such circumstances. If a car crashes in front of you, you are going to help the person not thinking what party, what color, what religion they are, that is what we do, because it is the right thing to do because deep inside most people are good.

As far as 9/11 and what we did after, hopefully we learned a lesson that after a tragedy rushing to get it "fixed" based on a emotional reaction is the wrong thing to do, but that lesson hasn't been learned really. Also, "patriot correctness" is just as dangerous as "political correctness" in stamping out debate and sometimes truth. When you listen and surround yourself with only one side of the debate or argument, you can be brainwashed.

We became extremely gullible.

We have a President we should all be ashamed of.

This country is done. Hate to be negative, but this American democracy experiment has just about failed. IMO we either go to a European style system, with the party who was elected to the legislature, then selects the country's leader, we get more political parties that have some real clout, getting rid of this ridiculous Repulicans vs Democrats back and forth crap -- OR we move in a different direction and give the president a lot more power (AKA a semi dictatorship). The current system doesn't work any longer. The current system as it stands now appears to be only good for a few things: give aways to the voters, running up more debt, and re-electing the incumbents. That's it.

That, plus we've gotten complacent. We've forgotten that freedom also comes with a price. Previously, we've made improvements at the airports with security until liberals decided that they'd rather have open borders and that they'd rather burn Old Glory instead of salute it. The culture war in our country has turned into a mass civil war which may take years to heal.

And six years ago on this date was Benghazi. Guess what? That mess has still not been resolved yet.

He died a horrible death after living in a dirty compound for years.
The US spent millions hunting him down, he spent millions avoiding capture and after he died he was dumped into the sea.
His name is synonymous with evil.
Winner? What a laugh.

Yes.

Don’t forget the message that “America sucks and it’s all the uppity blacks/ Mexicans /liberals /Muslims/ gays /atheists fault” that’s coming from AM radio, many looney websites, and a few church pulpits).
