This is such a wonderful, passionate, heartfelt, thoughtful interview on a range of topics by Jon Voight who will be 80 in December, which is hard to believe. I knew nothing about him. His father was a clever boy who started working as a caddy while a kid then grew up a tall, blonde, handsome golf pro with three little blonde boys. Voight looked like one of his own grandkids from Brad and Angelina.
Voight talked about his long friendship with the late Burt Reynolds, his own time as a liberal in Hollywood protesting the Vietnam war and how that changed his thinking, eventually becoming a conservative. His love of Israel and Jewish culture even though he's not Jewish. He was a very early Trump supporter so learning how he evaluated Trump compared to that field of the best of the Republican party was fascinating. A creative mix of intuition and logic.
At one point, he became emotional and teared up which caused me to tear up. A very sensitive man, one reason he's a great actor.
You will also learn a lot of hard truths about politics (with age comes wisdom) but it's important, especially for millennials who haven't been exposed to this information before.
What aspect of Trump does Voight support? Is it his admiration of Trump University taking people's life savings? Is it all the bankrupted casinos? Is it his support of Trump Institute scamming people out of their money? Is it Trumps' housing discrimination? Perhaps the new case being made against Trump for conspiracy to de-fraud the United States government keeps Mr. Voight hanging on.

Jon Voight has not been unemployed. He's been in eight movies in the last two years and a semi regular on the series Ray Donovan from 2013 till 2017. His average since he started acting has rarely been that good.
