Sounds like just another self-generated "rumor" made up from thin air, thrown out there to either measure possible reaction, or create a reaction.
Apparently he “quit” via Kelly.
Much better for Trump if he quit.
Won’t know the truth for days/weeks.

Now we need Sessions to “quit.”

Drama, drama, drama. Haven't we heard the same about Sessions for months now?

Let Rod continue to blow in the wind then, especially after it was revealed what he did. Jeff and Rod are lame duck DOJ “leaders”

That means Bob Mueller investigation presses on, which also means Cohen and Manafort are still chirping like beautiful little song birds to Mueller and SDNY. Obviously that scares Trump, which is why he wants Rod gone.

If Trump fires Rod Rosenstein and Mueller, Trump is screwed. If Trump lets Rosenstein and Mueller stay, Trump is screwed.

Either way, Trump is screwed.

If Trump DOES fires Rosenstein and hires a yes man to fire Bob Mueller, this will very much strengthen the obstruction charges against him.

If Trump DOESN'T fire Rosenstein, the Bob Mueller investigation pushes on and Cohen and Manafort continue to sing like little canaries, dropping bombshell after bombshell on Trump. Which will eventually end in charges against Trump.

Donald Trump is a despicable human being, and every choice he's made in his entire life has all lead to this moment of him being ABSOLUTELY SCREWED.
How can Trump fire Rosenstein based on a story from the NYT which Trump is always calling fake news?

Does this mean Trump has been lying and screaming fake news simply for his base?

They all seem to be taking this as real news at the WH. Weird.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge.
It's curious how we proclaim a media to be fake news when it reports things that seem to differ from our perceptions, while accepting it when the news seems to validate our perceptions.

Same deal with polls.

Shows public perceptions trend biased more so than anything else.

No, its most likely just more fake news that Rod was resigning/being fired.

That's a lie.

Jeff Sessions picked him.

Latest news is that Rosenstein is neither being fired nor resigning, but is just attending a scheduled noon meeting at the White House.

This seems most likely.

The WH wanted to hear what Rosenstein had to say about the NYT article, they have him on the record now.
