In an ideal world, yes that makes sense. In reality, things have been all out retarded the last two years where voting along party lines means more than the voters they represent. As a CO resident, Cory Gardner is dead meat come 2020 due to his sleaziness and refusing to vote for what the majority of his state has become over the last few years - Democratic.

Ideally, there were no political parties. But when votes are made with party lines, individual voices aren't heard.

And she has the attention of a lot people right now who normally wouldn’t bother listening to these floor speeches. Using her spotlight well right now.

This has got to be driving a lot of those on the left crazy, she's one of the people they really thought they could bully and sway into voting no. She's knocking this one out of the park.

Wasn't she one of the ones on the fence last week about supporting him ? Wanted to see the results of the FBI investigation ?
If she is now defending him, that says a lot.

democrats are in their worse case scenario. they have the FBI investigation and now Collins, as an independant voice, is defending Kavanaugh.
