The Supreme Court issued a ruling today allowing North Dakota to enforce its voter ID laws. Brett Kavanaugh's did not participate in this decision, but his vote was apparently not necessary.

Supreme Court allows North Dakota to enforce voter ID laws

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to toss out an appeals court order that allows North Dakota to enforce its voter ID requirement during the 2018 elections.

The request to toss out the order came from a group of Native American residents who are challenging a new state law that requires voters to present identification that includes a current residential street address. The District Court agreed and temporarily blocked the state secretary from enforcing the new requirements during the primary elections, but the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals blocked that court order last month.

The Court's newest member, Brett Kavanaugh, did not take part in the decision. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, however, filed a dissenting opinion, which Justice Elena Kagan joined.

This needs to go further. All states should be required to use E-Verify or other systems to ensure that voters are citizens who have the right to vote, or their votes will not be counted/included in Federal elections. How do we get that on the books?

Excellent. Congress should pass voter ID requirement for all federal elections. Even without Kavanaugh it’s a hard sell to say you need an ID to buy a vitamin or enter a public building but you can’t be forced to have one to vote.

Tweet at Trump or fill out one of those White House petitions.

You obviously didn't read the case, the suit was brought by native Americans. The requirement was to provide some sort of identification with a street address, it wasn't a voter ID other than some sort of proof of residence. Many living on a reservation don't have a street address and even if you agree this is close enough to the election to cause confusion.

And whose fault is that?

A better question is why they are changing the format after it has been in place for years. This is not a voter ID in the true sense, just a record of address. So it is now the fault of Native Americans because they don't have an ID with a street address, did the state attempt to reconcile the problem.

I would imagine this is an issue on most reservations, maybe someone with some experience can shed some light. Do they do the same in Alaska.

Strange. Montana has 7 (IIRC) Native American Reservations, and has had a voter ID requirement for many years. The voter must be able to prove that they reside in the precinct where they are voting.
Nobody, AFAIK, on or off the Rez, has ever complained about not being able to vote due to not having a street address.
Every public road in the state has a name or number, and every house on any of those roads has a house number. The state did this many years ago so that Emergency personnel (fire, ambulance, police, sheriff, etc.) can find any caller. The old method of "Drive down Sullivan road to the red barn, turn left, go one mile, turn right, and drive to the big cotton wood tree" just didn't work all that well. Real addresses that can be entered into a GPS are much better.
I like voter ID. I don't want somebody walking into Pioneer School and voting in my name. I also don't want the dead voting.
