Such a tragedy for the community.

11 dead. Just horrible. I have been told the JCC is holding a support group. Such hate and right in our city. Truly a sad day for all.

My family and I literally drove past the synagogue like 30 minutes before the shooting.

It's funny how things like this seem to be "theoretical" and national issues - until they aren't.

So tragic. Seems like this stuff is happening more and more. Hard for me not to wish the police had taken him out.

Reports are now at least 11 dead, with two critically injured.

Thankfully no children.

I feel like such a jinx. A few days ago I was just thinking “We’re lucky that for a city of this size that it’s been so long since we’ve had a mass shooting.” Then this happened. I was at the Dollar Tree in Robinson Township (nicest Dollar Tree I’ve ever been to) when friends started sending me Facebook messages checking in because they knew I spent a lot of time in Squirrel Hill.

My best friend used to live two blocks away at Aylesboro & Denniston. I managed a business two blocks away at Wilkins & Severn. Many of our clients were Jewish and lived in Squirrel Hill. I pray I didn’t know any of the victims. My colleague, who is vacationing abroad, knows the injured 55-year-old officer.

I was crying earlier. I’ve been flipping between WPXI and CNN all day. This hits close to home. This hurts.

I felt the same way. I literally still do 8 hours later. Truly a dark day for our city, state, country, and society

Folks...a devastating affair and again guns involved in a country and society that cannot manage the proper use of arms in the common people's hands.

My prayers are with you folks, together with those from my close family here in Miami. May the Power be with you All !!!
