Thanks in part to the Democratic push for higher minimum wages....

In addition to the tighter job market, various states, communities and private companies have passed minimum wage increases

An economic mystery: Despite the hot economy, wages are barely growing, adjusting for inflation

You may have heard that wages are finally starting to go up — and they are. The latest number from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows growth of more than 3 percent, the highest in almost a decade.

But there's a big caveat to this number. It's not adjusted for inflation.

When taking that into account, wages are growing less than 1 percent faster than inflation. And this holds across a few different measures of compensation.

Yet wages aren’t keeping pace with the CPI or inflation rate.

Wage growth is in fact exceeding inflation, and by the largest amount in 10 years. Try to keep up here.

Its nice to hear people finally believing in government statistics like wages and unemployment gains for the last 8 years. Now they like them.

Anyway this is good news.

That’s a big fat lie, as I’m sure you’re aware. Refer to post #3.

I did. It says wage growth is 3.1% and inflation is 2%. You said wages aren't keeping pace with inflation.
