This is the latest article from today regarding premium for 2019. The highest is 885 euro but some items may need to be paid out of pocket.

If you switch health care providers then you risk to be denied as that is allowed.

You are obligated to have health care and less and less is covered.

Years ago dentist cost was covered for two visits a year for check up. That’s history and less is covered.

Many annual exams like they are covered in the US are not covered for annual checks.

Waiting times are long and my family member just got hip surgery after month of waiting. Now for rehabilitation she is placed 100 miles from her home town where she doesn’t k ow anyone.

The hospital was not able to tell where she was going until the surgery was done and the hospital could see if she wasn’t able to go home where she lives on her own. We are taking about a mid 80 year old!

If you witness how this is handled you will think twice to be in favor of that bad health care system.

126 euros a month for health insurance in the Netherlands?

You are really using this to compare the the US health insurance disaster?

Firstly I don't speak Dutch so the link means very little to me.

Secondly the Netherlands does not have a Socialist Healthcare System, it has a Universal Healthcare system based on private insurance with some Government provision.

Healthcare in the Netherlands - Wikipedia

A socialist healthcare system would be one like the NHS in the UK, where the system is paid for through taxes and everyone qualifies for free healthcare in relation to family doctors, hospitals and even in terms of free or low cost prescriptions.

I am sorry, the current US health care system is a greedy profit ridden business that is on its last legs. I am sick of seeing insurance companies try to weasel out on paying bills and pharmaceutical companies that charge Americans higher and higher prices for drugs that are available in Canada and Europe for a fraction for the cost.

Its time for a change. The only question for Trump and the Republicans is if they are going to wait for the Democrats to come up with real solutions and thus win the next election, or are they able to come up with something themselves. If the Republicans come up with something, we may be able to have some kind of public-private partnership, otherwise the Democrats are going to move us to socialized government medicine.

But this current laisse faire every man for himself health care we have right now, its going. Its just a question of time before its gone.
