He doesn't care about Trump using it. He's upset at the deranged leftists who are complaining about it.

No one is getting ripped off, Axl is getting paid every time his song is played... he just likes to whine about Trump.

I don't know, but I do know there are copyright laws and you can't do whatever you want with someone else's product.

Almost every politician knows this as does his staff.

Musicians can license their music for commercials (they get paid) and stuff like that, but you cannot use it publicly.......... without permission. Also, if you "sample" music into a new song, you are limited on how many bars (notes?) you can use without permission.

Stuff like that.

This touches on it, but your going have to look up the rest of your questions:

PERFORMING A COVER SONG LIVE: The rock band or solo performer does not need a license to perform a cover song live. ... Sometimes a venue or store will tell you that you cannot play any cover songs. This means they have opted not to buy any music performance licenses from the PROs.Sep 27, 2015

No, that's not what those tweets show. Why would he call the Trump campaign that name in the first tweet? You can be amused at the irony but still not want it to happen.

Its rather hilarious that many of Trump's defenders here who were not aware of the laws concerning creative and intellectual property are trying their best to twist this against those who are not Trump fans, as if we're the ones who created the relevant law or enforce it.

Folks, it's not really political, try as hard as you can to make it so. It's about obeying the law, the same law that applies to everyone, no matter what your politics or candidates. Trump abused the law and ripped off numerous musicians in so doing by denying them proper payment for their creative and artistic property: their music. That's kinda like shoplifting, or maybe just outright theft. Not cool, no matter who does it.

And guess what, it's not the Democrats who are behind this law or its enforcement, as much as you Trumpites would like to have it be so. Though we're certainly willing to call out breaking the law when we encounter it.

But that law was around long before Donald Trump entered politics, and you can't tell me he doesn't have a team of lawyers who would be well-aware of it, even if he is personally unaware. Shoot, his hotels probably use recorded music all the time, in restaurants, lobbies, and other areas, and someone had to obtain or pay for the rights to play said music.

Trump et al blew it, that's all. They left undone the things they ought to have done. He didn't get the artists' permission; he didn't pay ASCAP or anybody else for the rights. Any consequences belong with Trump and his legal team and no one else.

So you are calling Rose a liar. His words are there clear as day. He wants it to stop, (and I've never heard his song at a Trump rally) to stop due to the deranged leftists.

Depends on whether it's public domain or not. Even school bands and orchestras are supposed to pay up if they perform copyrighted music publicly.

Just as performances of school plays have to obtain permission, if it's something like "The Diary of Anne Frank". Shakespeare doesn't require any royalty payment, thankfully!
