Pre-modern civilization, there were far less fires.
Man causes ~85% of fires today. As well, our sprawling into or near forests means that we are forced to fight fires that we might otherwise let burn (contrary to popular belief, fires not threatening people or property are managed in a hands off way comparitively).
Man was not all out in the woods starting fires......
But, back to my question. and we will go with dry lightning as the spark.
How do you think forest fires like this played out, before people had the ability to put them out, or at least control it somewhat?
"Catastrophic man-made global warming" is a complete hoax
Apr 17, 2018 7
Some time ago, I wrote a letter stating that over 30,000 scientists (by name) have said "catastrophic man-made global warming" is a complete hoax and science is a lie. I thought for sure that the Douglas County Global Warming Coalition would submit a rebuttal using the worn-out 'denier' word.
I ask our local "experts," are 30,000 scientists lying? Or maybe they are not as smart as the DCGWC crowd?
I think it is a simple case of the usual reason — money. African nations are furious over possible collapse of climate change agreement, and General Dynamics noted that the Europeans are upset that with President Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, as they will not be getting a free ride any more. Then we have Al Gore. His wealth has grown from $2 million in 2001 to $100 million in 2016, largely due to "investments" in fake green tech companies. And lets not forget that great eco-nut George Soros (socialist/liberal). Are you aware that last year he spent $160 million
on fossil fuel companies.

It was just a matter of time before some leftist extremist blamed even the California wildfires on "Man-made Global Warming", or whatever they are calling it this week.
All this with still no proof of any connection between man's activities and the climate change we have been seeing for the last 500,000 years or so.
Worse than that, each and every time Earth warms, the climate gets wetter, not drier. Precipitation increases, not decreases.
It's only when Earth becomes colder does it get drier, and precipitation decreases.
Wildfires are a natural part of Earth, and in particular a natural part of the US.
There were dozens of wildfires every year for centuries and centuries before colonists came, and every year for centuries after they came. Wildfires are a natural part of certain types of old-growth forests.

The liberals just can't get the facts to line up with their cherished theories, so as usual they simply stand up and announce their theory is correct. Man has caused whatever they're seeing, and man can change it back. With massive intrusion from government, of course, massive taxation, and huge amounts of new regulation.
So now the latest panic issue is that the California wildfires are man's fault.
They might have something there, of course: Libera environmentalist whackos have block forest management for years, leaving years of dead wood, choking underbrush, and dry tinder in place. No firebreaks allowed, no cleared areas to stop the advance of wildfires, etc.
But somehow Governor Moonbeam forgot to mention those things. No, it's all the so-called "climate deniers" fault.
Climate change is propelling California’s fires, governor says

Gov. Jerry Brown on Sunday said wildfires like the ones spanning the state today threaten “our whole way of life” and lend urgency to efforts that would slow the impacts of man-made climate change.
Moonbeam? Your lack of independent thought is telling. No wonder you are uninformed about climate change.

The problem with today is that so many people are building in risky areas in the foothills. I’m sure it’s beautiful, but is the view worth it? If it’s not fires, it’s mudslides. People should probably live in valleys and just hike to the pretty sites.

Thanks for supporting my point: There is no proof that man's activities have any effect on climate, whether it's global warming, global cooling, or whatever the liberal fanatics start calling it next week or next month.
The lib fanatics simply want to get govt to put massive resources in, and hugely disrupt civilization's way of life, simply based on their unproven word that man did anything to cause Global Whatever, and their unproven assertion he can do anything to stop it.

Right, like I'm gonna believe some bloviating uneducated conservative climate denier over the majority of highly-educated scientific minds worldwide who study this stuff.
If you don't realize that the climate here in CA really has changed and the role that perpetual drought plays in worsening these wildfires and generating a year-round fire season, then you really don't know much.
