This idiot put all his money into a fire safe not knowing how a FS works, most are gypsum or dry wall lined. If you have any amount of money in a home and want it protected you need to think it through but the idiot lives in an exclusive CA home and wants help till his insurance check comes in from people who have much less. how about Go F yourself.
Who else would you blame for keeping your life savings in a not so fireproof safe in a state well known for almost burning down your house multiple times a year?
They evacuated the home but did not take the money with them? Terrible mistake. Very unfortunate. At least their home and some belongings will be covered.
The home is described as a Malibu Estate. If you look at the remains, you can tell this was a pretty spectacular residence worth many millions. I find it hard to believe these people had ALL of their money in the safe. No brokerage accounts? No stocks, mutual funds, nothing but hard-cash in a safe? Doesn't seem likely. If it was true, I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for them. If they were that wealthy, they should be able to rebuild that wealth again.
The OP: Exhibit A in the lack of empathy for a fellow human being. Probably kicks dogs when they're down too.
I must have missed where *you* showed *your* empathy for these people.
