"Navy investigators said that one SEAL medic was kneeling over the fighter’s head, treating him, when Chief Gallagher walked up and, without saying a word, took out a handmade knife and stabbed the teenager several times in the neck and side."
Why in the hell was he not charged right away over that?
There are lots of stories about atrocities committed by US soldiers in Iraq, which was a completely disgraceful war of aggression and false pretense to begin with of course. The United States had zero legitimate reasons to be there. (Lots of illegitimate ones though...)
If we're the good guys I'd hate to see what the bad ones look like.

Our brave men and women should not be put on a pedestal because things like this happen to often.
Wars and the Government who supports the wars have nothing to do with patriotism, but loyalty to the state.
According to your article,
he shot indiscriminately at civilians, killed a teenage Islamic State fighter with a handmade custom blade, and then performed his re-enlistment ceremony posing with the teenager’s bloody corpse in front of an American flag.
Did he kill any civilians? It looks like he killed a teenage ISIS fighter, and isn't that what the government sent him to do? Seriously, I am genuinely confused.
The is a tricky thing about about being in the military: killing only if/when necessary and not killing, raping, or severely hurting innocent third-parties.

I think there was more than that.
Also soldiers have been discharged for desecrating corpses, harassing 3rd parties, and killing wounded combatants with no cause.

Really? Confused? You are confused over the difference between killing during a combat engagement versus stabbing someone while they are captured and receiving medical attention? You are confused over the difference between shooting at enemy combatants and shooting civilians?

Where did it say he stabbed someone while they were captured and receiving medical attention?
well, did he kill any civilian? Which civilian did he kill? I didn't see anything about killing civilians at all in that article. If you have, then show me where it said that, you don't have to give an attitude. sheesh
