Crazy righties. So much AOC angst all over a first term REP from New York who has no seniority and thus no political power at all. I love it too. Soon she will be President. LOL!
This place has turned from a place for political discussions to a discussion board for anti-Trump trolls. Might as well rename this board “I hate Trump!”
Oh and move to Norway if you want her as President.
It is entertaining that Trump fans are so focussed on this one representative. It is obvious they think she must be a real threat right?
Because, let's face it, if someone isn't a threat, a loony, etc...why bother.
No, it's scary because the American public is so stupid that they vote for someone this ignorant. And you clowns that snicker that she may be the next president...how it that even funny? And no, doesn't matter what party you're from.
When you're a leftist and so stupid that even Whoopi calls you out, you know you're dumber than a box of rocks. She almost makes Krugman look like an economist.
It's gonna be a fun couple of years with the little clown in the House-great entertainment value. She does have things in common with Pelosi-in terms of rejecting facts and reality.
Yep- she even says facts don't matter- it's the sentiment or emotion that is important.
Now that might be correct for a finger painter, but not an adult politician or anyone in any professional capacity.
It would be like a physician performing a gallbladder for someone with angina; as long as the physician was emotionally supportive, it is okay!

5% of a poor person's income is worth more to a poor person than 5% of a rich person's income.
5% of $30,000 is $1,500. 5% of 200,000 is $10,000. For a poor person, $1,500 could be the difference between having an apartment and homelessness (or at least choosing between being on the street and postponing a needed medical visit).
For a rich person, doing without $10,000 at most means having to buy a second-hand instead of new Bentley, or having to choose between Scandianvia and the Mediterranean for that "great" vacation (and probably not even that).
THAT is one reason the wealthy have to have higher tax rates than the poor. Another reason is to prevent power imbalances in this society (i.e. rich can buy off elected officials and such).

Explanation of Marginal Tax Rates.
For example, let's say the following. This is just for demonstrative purposes only!! It is not my actual claim of what the tax rates for each income bracket are (the very fact I have to mention this to some people says a lot about how quick they are to twist or discredit those trying to make a point!)
Let's say Shannon earns $115K/yr. If that's so, that does not mean this person pays 35% of every dollar earned in taxes. That actually means they pay a certain percentage of the first tax bracket
Shannon pays the following amounts in the following brackets:
10% of the first $19,999 ($1,999.99);
15% on the next bracket ($2,999.99);
20% on the next bracket ($3,999.99);
25% on the next bracket ($4,999.99);
30% on the next bracket ($5,999.99);
Grand total for all brackets below Shannon's: $19,999. That is what she pays on the first $100K of income.
The remaining $15,000 ($115K - $100K), Shannon pays 30%, which is $15K. 30% of that is $5,250.
Add that $5,250 to the amount Shannon already owes, that makes a grand total of $25,249 Shannon owes for taxes. That amount divided by $115K is 21.95%, not 35% as a lot of posters seem to suggest. BTW, the last time I checked the actual federal income tax brackets, they weren't nearly that steep, assuming the pattern holds for higher incomes. So in reality, somebody earning $250K likely would be hurt much, much less by an increase in marginal rates than in this example.

This means that in NY and CA, when you include state and local taxes, some people will be paying over 80% in taxes. Thats just absurd, regardless of how much money anyone makes. The federal government does not have the right to take 70% of anyone's income, taking ~30% is questionable, especially considering how wasteful they are with it.
Why wouldn't she? She's proposed Medicare for all, which would cost $3 trillion a year, and her Green New Deal will cost $1 trillion a year, so she needs to steal the people blind to fund her ludicrous liberal socialist Utopia.
