Stop driving on roads if you don't want to pay taxes. Don't call the fire department if your house catches fire if you don't want to pay taxes. Don't call the police department if you are a victim of a crime if you don't want to pay taxes.

Better yet, remove yourself completely from civilized society and go live under a rock. No one will bother you for anything there.
I would if I could, trust me on that ... if you want to opt in an pay for all those services, you should be able to, but you should not require me to, just because you think it is a good idea. The government needs to draw a line and stay out of my wallet. They didn't go out and earn it and you didn't earn it for me either.

Because they can't figure it out on their own, they want the government to do it for them, as well as, expect every one else to go along with it.

And yet, you remain an active part of a civilized society. You could go live in the woods, forage for food and be totally self-supporting. But you don't. Why? Because you enjoy the benefits of a civilized society. You just don't want to have any responsibility for supporting the benefits you willingly partake of.

Neither have I.

My first thought was that her employer wasn't being honest with her.

That's all well and good, but if you ANCAP/Libertarian types want to eliminate insurance then you better have a rock solid plan to drastically reduce the cost of healthcare so that everyone can afford it.

And that means all types of healthcare for any services one might need.

They have 30 employees, 29 of which live 90 miles from here, in another town. I am the only employee in this town. If they added me to their group plan, which they could, I would have to drive to their town for medical services. They can't create a local group here for me with just one member.

The government doesn't take responsibility either. Yet advocates such as yourself wish for them to take even more money from its citizens ... something is wrong with people like you. Why not just direct deposit your pay check into the federal reserve bank?

I don't get out much, you? As I haven't the money to do so.

There are Amish “dentists”, “Doctors” and “midwives” that are not recognized by any medical board. Amish “midwives” consistently endanger women’s lives, the state board knows of it and yet doesn’t touch them because of the can of worms it will open up.
Life expectancy for the Amish is slightly higher than the general population.

There are different brands within the Amish religion, no different than any other organized religion. Some are more or less Conservative than others. Most have no issue with immunizations.

Generally speaking, the Amish are more likely to go with home remedies than the general population. Given they do not watch TV, they are not told to ask their doctor about Fill in the Blank medication.

As a group, they have a substantially lower incidence of diabetes and some Cancers than the general population, attributed to substantial physical activity persisting into old age and an absence of the use of substances and genetics.

The Amish are far more likely to let life expire with dignity than prolonging care in terminal cases. The elderly age in place, at home, with their families.
