Trump likes to brag about GDP growth and low unemployment -- he can't do it without California's contribution. And then nearly every day somebody (usually an out-of-stater) will post something anti-California bleating about poverty rates, homeless, or junkies in the downtown L.A. or S.F., making it sound like the whole state is bad. It isn't.
California: No. 5 economy in the whole world. Americans in all 50 states should be saying "job well done" as a matter of national pride, not trashing us.
Well, I live in CA right now, and it's great if you have STEM education, but not so great if you don't. Yes, it IS that bad. The homeless rate has skyrocketed in the state of CA. San Francisco is a mess all by itself, and thankfully it's not how many cities in CA are, but it's one of the biggest cities and it's a disaster...unless you've had a STEM education. Yes, there are more jobs available recently...if you have a STEM education. If you don't, you're screwed.
The farms do produce a lot...and the people who work on those farms are not doing well. There's a lot of illegals working on those farms as well as citizens, and they don't get paid jack all...but hey, as long as CA can boast it's got the 5th biggest economy in the world, who cares how those workers are treated. (And most of them in those areas are not liberal - they are what the coastal elite wannabes call "stupid" and "bumpkins" and love to sneer at them.)
The state still is very unfriendly towards businesses, despite how many liberals try to pretend that isn't so. People leave CA because of it, (businesses), and businesses do not come to CA because of it. There could be even more jobs for people, but who cares, CA has the 5th largest economy in the world! That's all that matters! Poor people be damned!
Homeless people are a side effect of capitalism. As wealth increases, so does cost of living. Look at the rest of the world, none of the other successful major cities are cheap (i.e. Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Paris, Sao Paolo etc)

LA and the Bay Area have tons of truck driving jobs available, and with pay starting at $21/hr in LA and $25/hr in the Bay Area (and that's with average 60 hour work weeks, so with time and a half, that's good money)
Number 5 economy in the world, number one for taxes and fees. When the unfunded pension and benefits bomb explodes Californians will wish the big one hit and swept it into the sea.

First to the OP. It does not matter what others think about California. Their issues are not the problem of CA. The big fish should not worry about the little fish unless they revolt and do things like elect the current POTUS. That is being taken care of and things will be back to normal soon.
As to the bold above, if CA is so unfriendly to business then why is it the 5th biggest economy in the world??? Think about it. Maybe you mean it is unfriendly to small business - then maybe you would have a good point. Otherwise this statement makes no sense when your opinion is directed at the state that is keeping the country afloat economically.
