Dude has always been a gutless little worm. But he failed because he became a gutless little worm for Trump. Had he stayed in the Senate he'd still be in the Senate. But instead he had to be the first to stump for Trump. And look where that got him.
I figure Trump never told him his "snake" story. LOL.

Love Trump and his snake story.
Especially the part where the Trump trolls all cheer and laugh at being called chumps.
Certainly an honorable man, he was privy to the early days of the Trump candidacy, sat with Bannon and discussed the changes they wanted to see. Legendary as a prosecutor "the silent executioner" but when he got into office in the DOJ, her became a miser of law. Unable to stand up to the Clintons he announced that the investigation would not be reopened, recused himself from anything doing with Russia and failed to deal with the issued. It's like he was in quicksand. I was so surprised that he did fail, I wondered what y'all thought about it.
He was supposed to recuse himself. That's what proper jurisprudence calls for, and he knew it. He failed because he did the right thing with a boss who insisted on doing the wrong thing. Trumo doesn't care about silly concepts like preservation of judicial impartiality.

Sack of crap bent on putting people in cages for smoking the wrong plant, good riddance !

In roleplaying terms, Jeff Sessions is Lawful Evil, Trump's administration is Chaotic Evil. Not a good long-term match.
He did an outstanding job for Trump ... A+. Trump failed by getting rid of him.
The fact that Sessions had to recuse himself from the Trump Campaign-Russia investigation is not his fault, it is the fault of the campaign and the candidate who started this mess to begin with. Sessions did the right thing and he knows it, Trump knows it, and Sessions knows that Trump knows Sessions knows Trump knows it.

I agree with the bolded. I think he did what was right, and it ticked off a whole lot of Trump's base. They wanted Sessions to go in and destroy everything anti-Trump. Even the fools who believe in that stupid Q Anon garbage thought Sessions was going to be a hero - at least at first.
I feel bad for Sessions. I think he was doing his job. It's one time I completely disagree with a decision made by President Trump.
He failed because he didn’t reopen the Clinton investigation and didn’t recuse himself, I think you will see every AG fail in the coming months if that’s the standard. How can someone working on the Trump campaign be considered an objective decision maker.
He was just doing his job and following our laws. Trump and all his supporters were just disappointed because Clinton wasn't locked up as promised, the search continues for the AG that will resurrect one of the dead investigations.

His biggest sin, in Trump's eyes, was recusing himself in the Russia investigation and refusing to be Trump's Roy Cohen. I don't think he had much choice, otherwise, he wouldn't have done it.
In everything else, he implemented what Trump wanted.
Sessions should have been fired the day he handed a loaded gun to the Democrats and butthurt never Trumpers and said, feel free to take pot shots at Trump, his family, friends and business acquaintances for the next 4 years.
